Neonie and Lachlans? Journey
From the age of 4 months my little boy suffered from respiratory infections one after the other with only a few weeks of good health in between, right up until the age of 5.? I look back and he would have taken a ridiculously excessive amount of antibiotics and predmix, not to mention the panadol, neurofen, Dimetapp and other cough elixirs.? I just couldn?t get that nose to stop dripping down the back of his throat to make that awful bronchial cough disappear.? And once we had it under control, sure enough someone would come along with another bug and away we went again.? It was a constant cycle.
Just before his 3rd birthday we had his tonsils and adenoids removed much to the disgust of the paediatric surgeon who said he would do it, but they looked normal to him.? After my boy came back from surgery and I had settled him down to sleep, the paediatric surgeon came out and informed me that they had struggled to keep him breathing throughout the surgery as he had such a tiny windpipe and massive tonsils.? He also asked whether I had noticed if my little boy had stopped breathing throughout the night as he certainly would have with the size of his tonsils.
But despite the removal of his tonsils, he still suffered from respiratory illnesses on a regular basis.? Not so much, but at least once every month and a half.
During this time he had regressed from a lively toddler to a little boy who played by himself, was fixed on spinning the wheels of his beloved Thomas the Tank engine trains and constantly going through repetitive behaviours, be it watching the same DVD over and over again, making the same sound or series of sounds over and over again or creating his own series of movements or obstacles courses which he would do over and over.? He had a large vocabulary and with the guidance of my parents could read beyond his years, and LOVED numbers but did not have any conversation skills.? If he wanted something he would lead us around by the hand to show us what he was after.? He had no social skills and did not know how to play with other children let alone with a lot of the toys he was given.
My son was diagnosed with high functioning autism and expressive dysphasia shortly after his 3rd birthday.
I took Lachlan to numerous therapies (that is another story) to work on his external symptoms.? While working with therapists (ie. Speech, ABA, Music) and going to the Special Education Unit (ECDU) at the local school and getting a prized spot with Autism Queensland?s Early Intervention Program, I starting reading and researching what might be happening on the inside.? I looked at diet and starting working with a specialist naturopath to identify foods that may be causing some of the behaviours we were dealing with and also started Lachlan on a course of vitamins and minerals which helped regulate his emotions and heal his digestive system.? She also gave me a homeopathic remedy to encourage his liver to work properly as he was passing nearly white poos.? This treatment worked quite quickly and encouraged the production of bile again to process his food properly and return his poos to that famous brown colour.? I was very impressed that a homeopathic remedy could work so effectively and so quickly.
At Lachlan?s ECDU I met another mother who also had a little boy with an autism diagnosis and she recommended Cathy at Heal with Ease for homeopathic treatment as this lady was not fond of antibiotics and preferred using homeopathies to treat illnesses.
This was a new field for me and after the success with the liver remedy I was keen to give it a try, so I researched more about homeopathy online to find out more about it.? I certainly had had enough of using medication on my son as it was a temporary fix and I was determined to find a way of healing him from the inside out.
So I thought I would give it a go and we both started on Cathy?s healing plans.? I love receiving them and finding out what Cathy has found in us to heal.? When you look these treatments up online to see what they are healing you for, I always have a giggle because in a lot of cases, they are ailments that you notice that you have, but don?t mention to anyone as you put it down to a bit of stress or ?that?s nothing? or ?I?ve always had that?.
After completing four plans we had a break for personal reasons but I bought a Beginners Kit and a No. 10 Sudden Illness Remedy as were going through moving houses and schools and it helped us with the changes.
Every time my son got the sniffles, blocked nose or sore throat, I gave him some No. 2 Infections and some No. 10 Sudden Illness for a day or two and amazingly he has only been sick twice in the past 12 months.? There were days when you could see that he had caught a nasty bug and he would go and lie on the bed.? But I would give him those two remedies and the next day he had improved and the following day he was even better.? Illness avoided.
Generally speaking, my son is going great guns.? I stopped all of his therapy in November 2011 to have a break.? Despite having no speech therapy, his speech has improved significantly since this time.? He has friends at school now and he is so much happier.? He has started to play T-ball this season and is learning to follow instructions and wait his turn.? He still has a teacher aide to help him in the classroom a lot of the time, but he is getting better and learning the routine of school well.??? He plays fairly normally now and he is getting better every day.
There is a lot to be said about healing from the inside not only for general health but how it affects the way we think and behave.? I highly recommend Cathy?s products and services to those people on a similar journey as an essential part of your treatment.
